Membership

How do I become a member of this Church?

Our Church congregation is made up of many people at different stages in their church life. When attending a service it may not be noticeable to others if you are a member or not as everyone is equally welcomed and valued. Those people who join us for worship and attend activities but do not wish to make a commitment to membership are known as adherents.

Adherents may remain at this stage for as long as they wish and they can take part in the full range of church activities but they are not able to vote at a church meeting or serve on the church council.

 

Many adherents do eventually decide to commit to membership and provided they agree to believe and act in line with the Congregational principles they will be admitted into membership.

If you are interested in becoming a member of this church please speak to the Pastor. All applications are taken to the next church meeting which in usual circumstances take place 6 times per year in January, March, May, July, September and November.

 

Requirements for membership

  • I believe in God and accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour

  • I have been called by God to be an active member of the church.

  • I regularly attend worship and am faithful in bible reading and prayer.

  • I attend church meetings and contribute to discussions and share ideas.

  • I accept responsibility for the ongoing work of this church.
