Easter Message
What a long, cold Winter we have experienced this year, we are all hoping for a long, hot Summer! But as I sit here and write this, looking out towards my garden, the sun is shining and the bulbs are just beginning to poke through the hard ground as they find their way to the light.
Not being a Scientist, I am not aware of the complicated reasons why a Bulb should begin to grow, but I do know enough to know that the temperature awakens the growth within. Easter is a time to celebrate such new birth. The birth of Lambs and Chicks are all reminders of a world that has Rhythm and meaning, birth, life and death. Easter celebrates all three in one single event, and in a different order.
Easter begins with death, the death of Jesus on the Cross by Men, who were jealous of his popularity, who were afraid of his message, who wanted things to remain the same. He, an innocent man, was cruelly murdered by religious leaders who used religion to justify his death. Easter should end there, but that was only the start of God's wonderful plan to save humanity. For three days later we see birth. Jesus was born again, raised from the dead by the power of God. The tomb was open, his body was gone, "he is alive", the Angels told the Women who came to anoint him. Gradually all of the followers of Jesus saw him alive, they spoke with him and ate with him, their Friend, leader and teacher had been born again, Jesus is alive.
Death, Birth and finally Life. Jesus lives in me, and promises me I will never die but live with him forever. This is the message of Easter, everlasting life for you and me and all we have to do is believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and live in that truth.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believes in him shall not die but have eternal life" John 3 v16
Just as the seeds awake in the earth and the bulbs break through the hard ground and grow towards the sun, free to shine in all their glory, Jesus offers to your life the same growth. Feel your cold Heart get warmer and lighter and as you stand tall, unburdened, and free to be who God wants you to be, you will then shine inn all your glory. Accept God's gift this Easter, the gift of life and come live with Him. May God bless you all this Easter.
Yours in His name,
Julie
