Friday Night Club returns
We were very pleased to be able to welcome our Friday Night Club children back to the church before the school term finished and they were excited to be back. Many of the children said they had missed this group during the Covid restrictions.
We met on the 11th of June and we spent time initially making rainbows and individual posters for our coffee morning in aid of the NHS – the colourful rainbows and hearts now adorn the front of the church.
We then walked to Bouskell Park and along the way we did a scavenger hunt, the children really liked this and by the time we got to the park, most of the items on the list had been spotted. At the park I told the story of the prodigal son (updated) and likened that to Jesus and God being ‘Our Father‘. We talked about this as it would soon be Father's Day.
Back at the church we enjoyed hotdogs and fruit lollies and this was followed by the making of a Father’s Day tie. All too soon the time was up and parents were coming to collect their children.
We do wish all the FNC a very happy holiday and hope that they enjoy the summer, although we will meet many of them again during the Holiday Club. My thanks are expressed to Susan, Jan and Jackie for their help.
